1.) Community Blood Drive

Where/When: (2251 New London Tpke.), Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Save a life, or three by donating blood today!

Where/When: gymnasium, Friday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Watch some of Coventry's finest go head-to-head in a basketball game to benefit the Coventry Food Bank.  

Pricing: One non-perishable food or personal care item per person

3.) Owl Prowl at Parker Woodland

Where/When: (1670 Maple Valley Rd.), Friday, 7-9 p.m.

Why Go: Learn about the owls of Rhode Island and get up close with one of these magnificent creatures. Then head out onto the trails of Parker Woodland in search of the intriguing birds in their natural setting. Registration is required. Call 949-5454 ext. 3041. Course Number: 024333-045.

4.) Summit Baptist Church Opening Day Fishermen's Breakfast

Where/When: Summit Baptist Church (1176 Victory Hwy.)

Why Go: The Church will host a breakfast for the early bird fishermen. Menu includes scrambled eggs, homemade hash browns, (2) sausages, buttered toast, (2) pancakes with syrup, coffee and orange juice.

Pricing: $6/adult, $3/child under 10

5.) Senior Center Yard Sale

Where/When: (50 Wood St.), Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: Check out the goods at the Senior Center's Annual Spring Yard Sale!

Pricing: Free admission

Where/When: Conference Room B at the ; Saturday 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: Members of the Georgianna Hall Memorial Trust want to revive the Coventry Memorial Day Parade. Anyone interested in being a part of the project should attend this informational meeting.

7.) Cemetery Cleanup

Where/When: Pine Grove and Manchester Cemeteries; Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: Join the Pawtuxet Valley Preservation and Historical Society Cemetery Committee in the kick-off of a major long-term project to restore the two cemeteries. Pull into Whipple Conservation Area off Rt. 117, where you will be directed to parking. Extra rakes, gloves and clippers are welcome. Rain date April 22 if BOTH dates are rained out.
