CLCF 11s Finish as NE Regional Runners Up

The team fell short of the championship, but it didn't "change an incredible summer," said Steve Richard of CLCF.

CLCF 11s Finish as NE Regional Runners Up

From Steve Richard of CLCF:

CLCF Baseball's 11 year old Cal Ripken State Champions fell just short tonight in the finals of the NE Cal Ripken Regional Tournament, losing a close 6-3 game to an excellent team from Quincy, MA.  The 11s, who call themselves the Cranston Crushers, won 3 games in the New England Regional Tournament in Norton, MA against elite teams from across the New England states.

One night doesn't change an incredible summer.  Prior to the NE Cal Ripken Regional Tournament, the Crushers rolled to the RI State Championship and won the Rehoboth Summer Slam in dominating fashion. The Crushers are one of the elite teams in New England and in the history of CLCF Baseball.  We're proud of all of the players, and we wish to thank the coaches and the great group of families who were there every step of the way.  Congratulations to the Crushers on their many accomplishments this summer!

It was another incredible 2012 season for CLCF Baseball.  During our spring season, we had 460 players ages 4-12 spread across 30 teams, making us one of the largest youth baseball organizations in NE.  We won 3 Cal Ripken State Championship teams (ages 9u, 11, and 12), and two of these State Championship teams (ages 11 and 12) finished as the Runners-Up in the New England Cal Ripken Regional Tournaments.  Our 10 year old team finished 2nd in the RI Cal Ripken Tournament.  We also had a 9 year old team that represented the League very well in tournaments in Coventry and Tiverton.  The players on our 8 year old team showed that their future is very bright - finishing 2nd in the Rehoboth Summer Slam, winning the Dighton Tournament, and reaching the semi-finals of the Andreozzi Tournament.

CLCF Baseball's large player enrollment and many successes in inter-league play demonstrate that it is one of the elite baseball leagues in region.  Our accomplishments are made possible by the numerous volunteers who give so much of their time for the players who are Cranston's future.  Every player, coach, and family within the CLCF Baseball network played a key role in our great spring and summer seasons.  The CLCF organization is very proud of and grateful for everyone's contributions.
