Fung Raises $115,000 in Fourth Quarter
Cranston Mayor and gubernatorial candidate Allan W. Fung raised more than $115,000 in the fourth quarter of last year, exceeding his goals, his campaign announced today.

Noteworthy is the fact that the contributions came from 1,200 unique donors, mostly from Rhode Islanders. James Donahue, Fung's campaign finance chairman, said that means the money "comes directly from hard working Rhode Islanders, not from Wall Street or the candidate's personal resources."

Here's the full text of the release:

Mayor Allan Fung continues to build broad-based support for his campaign for governor, today announcing contributions in excess of $115,000 dollars in the fourth quarter of last year.  Fung raised more than $380,000 in 2013, demonstrating tremendous success in a non-election year for the Republican’s candidacy, which was announced in November, 2013.

"The broad financial support from all across Rhode Island is a testament to Mayor Fung's hard work, dedication, and leadership in the city of Cranston" said James Donahue, Finance Chairman for the Committee for Allan Fung.  "It is abundantly clear that Mayor Fung’s commitment to getting Rhode Islanders back to work, providing a better education for their children, and improving the state’s crumbling infrastructure is resonating with the voters of Rhode Island," said Donahue.

"Of significant note is the fact that the Fung campaign has received contributions from nearly 1,200 unique donors, of which, more than ninety percent (90%) come from Rhode Island contributors.  The numbers show that Mayor Fung’s support comes directly from hard working Rhode Islanders, not from Wall Street or the candidate’s personal resources," continued Donahue." Allan Fung continues to focus on providing a stable business climate to encourage businesses to expand and create jobs.  His leadership has helped to create more than 1,000 jobs in Cranston, putting Rhode Islanders back to work.  Looking forward, we need exactly this type of leadership and experience at the statewide level."
