The Rhode Island Blood Center recently presented the town with the gift of a print of an original work of art as a token of thanks.

It's called a Season's Pass print and it represents the town's steadfast support of the blood center through numerous drives hosted by the town every year.

Last year alone, the town hosted six blood drives that helped save more than 300 lives, according to the blood center.

Under the Seasons' Pass program, which is in its 12th year, donors who give more than four times per year get a print and sponsors of four or more drives get a framed print.

In East Greenwich's case, the print was accepted by Town Manager Thomas E. Coyle III in a small ceremony.

The town began holding blood drives in 1992, and has collected more than 2,500 pints since then. The town’s next blood drive is May 9 at Swift Gym.
