Five Things: Mail Ballots, Art Exhibit

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Nov. 8.

Five Things: Mail Ballots, Art Exhibit

Weather: More wet snow or cold rain and wind today (brrrr!). Highs only in the mid-40-degree range, with a low around freezing. To read about the changeover yesterday and our first white stuff, check out Harold Ambler's blog post here.

House Dist. 30 race results: This seems to be "election results in three parts" – Tuesday night we got EG poll results; Wednesday afternoon we got WG poll results, now we await the mail ballot counts from both communities, sometime today according to the state Board of Elections. Anthony Giarrusso (R) is 148 votes ahead of Mark Schwager (D). Kevin McDonough (I) is a distant third. We will have the results as soon as they come available via Twitter (@egpatch) and soon after that here. For a list of EG vote totals, click here.

Art exhibit reception: There will be a wine-and-cheese opening reception tonight “Realism & Abstraction,” a show of original art by Joyce Neville at EG Free Library, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The exhibit is open during regular library hours.

Luniac Glamour Trunk Sale Thursdays: It’s ladies night out at Luniac Glamour on Main Street for Trunk Sale Thursdays this fall. They will be featuring local designers, new jewelry, clothes, and gifts. Each week they will feature different designers to showcase their wares. Every Thursday night beginning Oct. 11 through Nov. 15. From 7 to 9 p.m.

Election coverage post mortem: What did you think of EG Patch's election coverage? Was information easy to find? Was there stuff missing? Any suggestions? Let me know in the comments section.
