Proposed Budget 'Work in Progress'

The East Providence Budget Commission took its first look on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 4, at the proposed $154 million spending plan for next fiscal year that does not hike taxes, according to the East Providence Post.

 And the reaction?

“We’re viewing the budget as a work in progress, and it is a work in progress,” said Diane Brennan, the commission chairperson, in the Post story. We still have a ways to go.”

A second hearing on the budget is scheduled for Oct. 18 at 5 pm in Town Hall. It will follow the next Budget Commission meeting. See the story in the Post on the first hearing.
