Do You Hate Living in RI? Poll Says Many Would Move
A recent Gallup poll found 42 percent of Rhode Islanders said they would like to move to another state.
Rhode Island ranked at the bottom of yet another national poll.
A recently published Gallup Poll found 42 percent of residents said they would like to move to another state. Only four other states had higher percentages, with Illinois at the top at 50 percent.
Rhode Island ranked so low because of widespread dissatisfaction with state taxes, state government, and "overall perceptions of how their state compares to others as a place to live," the poll found.
Another recent Gallup poll ranked Rhode Island dead-last in terms of percentage of residents who view their state as the "best to live in."
Rhode Island's economy is currently in shambles; last month it the highest unemployment rate in the country at 8.7 percent.
