The Inner Space Center (ISC) at the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography (URI/GSO) is excited to announce its Underwater Exploration Camp for children/teens ages 11-15. During this week-longhands-on camp, participants will become ocean-explorers, building and testing a variety of oceanographic technologies, such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).  Campers will bring their ROVs home with them at the end of the week to continue their exploration quest!  During camp, participants will also be surrounded by video, audio, and other oceanographic data in real time, and learn about the amazing ocean discoveries that unfold at the ISC. Campers will engage with scientists that are involved in active missions to explore the otherwise “unknown ocean.”

The ISC Underwater Exploration Camp will be offered April 21-25, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the URI/GSO campus in Narragansett, Rhode Island.  The week-long camp will cost $495.

The ISC is a national, state of the art facility, supporting ocean exploration, research, and education. The ISC is home to Mission Control for ocean exploration, where teams of scientists and students work remotely and interact with live feeds from ships at sea.

Please visit the ISC website ( http://www.innerspacecenter.org/tours.php) for more information and a camp application.  Spaces are limited Applications and deposits must be received by March 21, 2014.
