Obituary: Paula A. Kyle, 75, Court Stenographer
Paula A. (Ripa) Kyle, lifelong native of Newport, passed away peacefully at her home on June 26, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born on her father’s birthday, November 1, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Anna M. (Ribera) Ripa and Paul J. Ripa.

Paula is survived by her son Keith B. Kyle and his wife Liz, her daughter Arlene K. Reynolds and her husband Patrick. She also leaves her grandchildren, Bryan Jestings and his partner Bethany Champion, Anna and Emma Kyle and Gina Reynolds, and her great grandchildren Kaleb and Dahlia Jestings. She was also the sister of Louise Menzi and Shirley Ripa. She leaves many nieces and nephews, god children, cousins and friends.

Paula was a 1956 graduate of Rogers High School. She went on to become a legal secretary and retired after 28 years as a stenographer at the Courthouse in Newport. She was currently the Vice President of the Forum Lodge Sons of Italy. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her wonderful friends, going to the Casinos, shopping and playing cards. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing the crossword puzzles in pen. She thoroughly enjoyed being with her grandchildren and she devoted her life to raising her two children as a single mother. She was a devoted New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox Fan, even though “the Red Sox were Bums” this year. Nana’s famous meatball recipe will be carried on by her grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday June 30, 2014 from 9-11 am in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI, with a memorial service following at 11:00am.
