The North Kingstown High School 4x800 team of Joe Craven, Dallin Smith, Zach Emrich and Ian Connors put in a remarkable showing at the Outdoor New Balance National Track and Field Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, last weekend.

The boys ran the 4x800 in a third-place winning time of 7:37.62, earning them All-American crowns and shattering the old Rhode Island record by nine seconds.

The previous record was set in 2012 by Chariho at the Penn Relays.

Emrich anchored the team with a 1:49.22 leg. Connors ran it in 1:57.51 and Craven had a 1:55.21 split.

Congrats!
