Body Found Off Teddy's Beach
According to the Department of Environmental Management, a 77-year-old Portsmouth man's body was discovered. Foul play is not suspected.

PORTSMOUTH, RI—A 77-year-old Portsmouth resident's body was discovered in the waters off Teddy's Beach, according to Rose Jones, spokeswoman for the state Department of Environmental Management.
"DEM was contacted by Portsmouth Police at 7:13 a.m." Wednesday, she said. "The body was identified as that of Ronald Atkins, age 77, of Portsmouth. Foul play is not suspected."
According to the DEM, Atkins is believed to have been a kayaker.

"A kayak was found a short distance away," she said.
The official cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner, she said.
