iPhone Thief Eludes Capture by Running into Corn Maze

Police lost sight of a man who allegedly stole an iPhone from a Ray's Towing employee and ran into a nearby corn maze.

A man who stole an iPhone 6 from a Ray’s Towing truck parked outside a Subway restaurant eluded capture after he reportedly ran through a nearby corn maze.

Police said they got a report at around 2:14 p.m. that an iPhone had just been stolen out of one of Ray’s Towing tow trucks while it was parked outside the Subway.

The suspect, described as a man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, then reportedly ran west, crossed Middle Road, and entered the corn maze at Escobar’s Farm.

Police said they caught an initial glimpse of the suspect at the far end the the field, but lost sight of him as they ventured into the corn maze to find him.

Police said they canvassed the area, spoke with neighbors but the suspect could not be found.

The victim, a Ray’s employee, said they would contact the phone company and have it disabled.
