Landmark Tin Man Missing From Four Corners Business
The Tin Man that has adorned the front of The Metalworks at 3940 Main Road is gone.
The Tin Main, a landmark fixture on the front of The Metalworks Corporation, 3940 Main Road, is missing.
According to Sgt. James Costa of the , the 5’ 10" design was noticed missing by business owner Scott Neville around lunchtime on Wednesday. Costa said it was most likely stolen during the evening between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Neville said he made the Tin Man when he was in metal shop as a senior at Tiverton High School. He said he’s repaired it several times over the years, and he took it down recently while renovations were being completed to the front exterior of his shop.

The Metalworks, located in the Four Corners district, specializes in ornamental ironwork, heating, air conditioning, copper roofing and gutters.
“It has zero scrap value,” added Neville. “Just having some publicity can [hopefully] bring it back.”

He said the Tin Man does not weigh much, probably between 40 and 50 pounds.
