P.O.V. Film Series At Tapp's Screens Meet Me in St. Louis Dec. 18, 2014 @ 7 PM

One of the greatest musicals ever made. Filmed in spectacular Technicolor. A Holiday classic!

The Point of View Film Series will fill you with good cheer with our holiday screening of ‘Meet Me in St. Louis’ (1944) Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7 PM.

Meet Me In St. Louis (1944) is a delightful, classic, nostalgic, poignant, and romanticized musical film - and one of the greatest musicals ever made. It tells the story of a turn-of-the-century family in suburban St. Louis in 1903. The city, and the well-to-do Smith family (with four beautiful daughters), is on the verge of hosting (and celebrating) the arrival of the spectacular 1904 World’s Fair. However, the family’s banker father is beckoned to New York due to a job promotion - an uprooting move that threatens to indelibly change the lives of the family members forever. This gem of cinematic, picture-postcard Americana and youthful romance, is richly filmed in Technicolor. It marked the beginning of the golden age of MGM musicals. -- Filmsite.org

This film screening is part of a continuing series between Point of View and Tapp’s Arts Center. P.O.V. meets monthly in the Skyline Room of Tapp’s Arts Center to view and discuss films of varying styles and genres from around the world.

Couch seating is limited so chairs, pillows and cushions are welcome.
