Greenville State Farmers Market Hosts Autumnfest

Three-day event begins Sept. 21

Greenville State Farmers Market Hosts Autumnfest

It’s the end of summer, and that means it is time for AutumnFest at the Greenville State Farmers Market. The three-day event, held Sept. 21-23, features locally grown and seasonal produce as well as plants and flowers for the gardening enthusiast.

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture’s annual AutumnFest at the Greenville State Farmers Market, located at 1354 Rutherford Road, showcases a wide variety of plants, flowers, and lawn decorations to spruce up any lawn or garden. There will also be a booth for Clemson Extension’s Master Gardeners to answer gardening questions.

“Fall is always a great time to get out into your yard and garden and take advantage of cooler weather,” said South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers. “You’ll find just what you need for your yard projects at any of our three Fall Plant and Flower festivals.”

AutumFest hours are Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. As always parking and admission are free. The Greenville State Farmers Market is open year round where shoppers can find Certified SC Grown products.

SCDA also hosts plant and flower festivals at the State Farmers Market in West Columbia and Pee Dee State Farmers Market in Florence. For more information on those events or more details about AutumnFest, call Jackie Moore with SCDA at 803-734-2210 or visit our website at www.agriculture.sc.gov.
