Wayfinding Signs Direct Traffic to Downtown

Town of Summerville erects wayfinding signs designed to help visitors.

Wayfinding Signs Direct Traffic to Downtown

The Town of Summerville has announced the installation of new “wayfinding" signs.

The signs are located on Main Street from the interstate into the downtown area, where the street the intersects with W. Richardson and Highway 78, and at the intersection of Berlin G. Myers Parkway and Gahagan.

According to a town press release, the signs have been designed to better direct incoming traffic from the interstate and other major corridors intothe downtown area. Some signs will also include direction to the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Center and to the free parking garage in the heart of downtown.

The new marketing logo on the sign was designed by Will Rizzo of Azalea Magazine with the Retail Market Study Steering Committee. The study was conducted by Dorchester County Economic Development along with the Town of Summerville, Summerville DREAM, the Summerville chamber and the Tri County Chamber of Commerce in St. George.

DREAM and the Summerville chamber are using this logo in marketing the town throughout the area and in national publications.
