Both East Broad and Wallace Drive campuses stay open, but you’ll need to follow posted detours and use alternate entrances like Brown, Galloway, Fleming, College, or Cardinal drives.

Alabama Power Establishes Endowed Scholarship for Gadsden State Valley Street Students (calhounjournal.com) — Students at Gadsden State’s Valley Street Campus will soon have access to a new endowed scholarship from Alabama Power, aimed at reducing financial barriers for career and technical programs. Gadsden Fire Departments honors the memory of three fallen firefighters 50 years later (gadsdenmessenger.com subscription) — Gadsden firefighters, city leaders, and families gathered at Central Station to honor three firefighters killed in a 1976 explosion, marking the tragedy’s 50th anniversary. Speakers, including Mayor Craig Ford and Fire Chief Vance Brown, pledged to preserve the men’s legacy, even relocating their monuments to a future riverside fire station so their sacrifice remains visible to the community.
