The project will add new student spaces, accessibility upgrades, and energy-efficient improvements, supporting workforce training and potential preventive-care outreach for the surrounding community. College leaders say the upgrades help meet growing enrollment and infrastructure needs without new construction.
   

4. Gadsden Woman Charged With Felony Murder in Death of 12-Year-Old - WEIS (weisradio.com) — Gadsden authorities have charged a local woman with felony murder in the death of a 12-year-old, after an autopsy ruled the case a homicide linked to alleged long-term neglect. Police and state child welfare officials are investigating, while the suspect remains jailed without bond under Aniah’s Law and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
   

5. Woman accused of ‘extreme' neglect that led to 12-year-old daughter's death (azfamily.com) — Gadsden police have charged 35-year-old Leslie Denise Wilson with felony murder in the death of her 12-year-old daughter, who had cerebral palsy, after investigators documented signs of severe neglect in the home. An autopsy ruled the death a homicide caused by sepsis, and an Etowah County judge has denied bond while the Gadsden Police Department continues its investigation.
