• Two people killed in head-on crash in Lee County (waka.com) — A serious head-on crash in Lee County has left two Salem residents dead and an Opelika man injured and treated at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. Troopers say the collision happened late Friday morning on Highway 169 near County Road 140, about seven miles north of town, and are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
