Pike County jury deliberates for 15 minutes before convicting man of murder (waka.com) — A Pike County jury in Troy needed just 15 minutes to convict Xavier Edwards of murder and illegal gun possession in the 2021 killing of Andre Thompson. Prosecutors say the shooting followed an argument outside a bar on U.S. 231, and Thompson later died at Troy Regional Medical Center. Edwards now faces a possible life-without-parole sentence in August.
