• DAR Chapter to Host Drive-Through Food Drive in Benton May 16 (mysaline.com) — A drive-through “Help Your Neighbor” food drive is set for Saturday, May 16, at First United Methodist Church in Benton, where you can donate without leaving your car. Organizers are seeking in-date, non-perishable foods and grocery gift cards to support local families facing food insecurity as summer approaches. The Saline Crossing DAR chapter, founded in Benton, is leading the effort.
   

• Free event invites the community to talk openly about mental health, May 9th at the Library (mysaline.com) — Residents can join a free “Living Stories” mental health event at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library in Benton on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to noon. You’ll be able to “check out” people instead of books for short conversations about mental health, caregiving, and resilience. Saline Memorial clinicians and community members will share experiences, resources, and support in a safe, informal setting.
