Local Experts Warn of Severe Tick Season in Northeast Arkansas (jonesbororightnow.com) — Jonesboro doctors and animal welfare experts are warning that ticks are especially bad this summer, bringing rising cases of Alpha-gal meat allergy and serious illnesses like Rocky Mountain spotted fever and bobcat fever. They urge residents to use year-round pet preventatives, check themselves and their animals after being outdoors, and seek prompt care for suspicious symptoms.

Domestic Disturbance Leads to Battery Arrest (neareport.com) — Police say a domestic disturbance at a Jonesboro home on Kingsbury Street left a wheelchair-using resident injured and led to the arrest of an Alabama man on felony battery and related charges. A juvenile present reported threats and tried to protect herself during the incident. The suspect is being held on a $50,000 bond with a no-contact order and GPS monitoring.

Two Arrested in Jonesboro, Accused of Possessing Drugs (jonesbororightnow.com) — Two people were arrested at a Jonesboro hotel after an officer, recognizing one suspect’s felony warrant, searched their bags and reported finding large amounts of meth along with other drugs and a scale. Police say one suspect had over 100 grams of meth, leading to a high bond and serious delivery charge. Both remain jailed with August court dates set.
   

4. Burger King Drive-Through Card Fraud Investigation Leads to Arrest (neareport.com) — Jonesboro police say a local fast-food worker secretly recorded customers’ credit and debit cards at a Burger King drive-through, leading to more than $1,400 in fraudulent purchases. Investigators report surveillance video showed the worker using his phone to capture card images on specific December dates. He now faces multiple felony fraud and theft charges and a $35,000 bond.
