Local and state leaders say the remodeled former Butterball facility strengthens Jonesboro’s growing role as a food manufacturing hub and offers fresh career opportunities for residents across Craighead County and Northeast Arkansas.

City Seeks Resident Feedback On Rail Crossing Concerns In Jonesboro, Arkansas (arkansasradio.com) — Jonesboro residents are being asked to pinpoint the railroad crossings that most affect their daily drives, safety, and access around town through a new city survey open until October 12. You can respond online or via a printable form, and officials say your feedback will directly guide which crossings are prioritized in the city’s Rail Crossing Elimination Study.
   

3. New Stops, Updated Routes Rolling Out on Jonesboro's Public Transit System (jonesbororightnow.com) — GOJO is adding new bus stops this week at key Jonesboro locations like the Revenue Office, Greensborough Village, Annie Camp Junior High, Helping Neighbors Food Pantry, and Union Park, while also splitting routes to cut wait times. Riders are urged to check the GOJO app or new digital signs, since buses may arrive earlier and campus-related routes have been reworked to better serve neighborhoods and major employers.
   

4. Jonesboro committee approves playground, turf for new all-inclusive Disciple Park in Hilltop area (kait8.com) — Jonesboro is moving closer to opening the all-inclusive Disciple Park in the Hilltop area, with committee approval for more than $1.4 million in playground equipment and turf. Planned as an 18-acre space designed for children of all abilities, the park will feature synthetic turf, trails, and accessible play structures. Construction is expected to begin in spring and continue into 2027.

Jonesboro committee seeks to purchase police and dispatcher equipment for the city (kait8.com) — Jonesboro officials are moving ahead with major investments in public safety and parks, including new police technology, E-911 radio equipment, and playground gear for Disciple Park. The Finance and Administration Council Committee backed grant-funded tools like a forensic computer and drone, plus a $2.2 million Motorola radio package. These resolutions now head to the full City Council for final approval.
