Man arrested on suspicion of burglary after barricading himself in Longmont prompted a shelter order (timescall.com) — Longmont residents near Twin Sisters Drive briefly faced a shelter-in-place order Tuesday evening after police say a man with a knife barricaded himself in a home. Earlier that day, he allegedly broke into an ex-girlfriend’s Longmont apartment, violating a protection order, before being arrested on burglary and related charges.

Auto thefts on Ninth Avenue, Stuart Street: Longmont police notes (timescall.com) — Longmont police logged a busy Wednesday, including auto thefts on Ninth Avenue and Stuart Street, several theft reports, and restraining order violations. Officers also handled a drug summons and a warrant arrest, giving residents a snapshot of recent crime activity across multiple neighborhoods.

Colorado National Guard shifts to year-round wildfire posture amid record low snowpack (einpresswire.com) — Longmont is one of several Colorado partners training with the National Guard and federal agencies to prepare for a potentially severe wildfire season driven by record-low snowpack and drought.
