1. 05/01/26-05/03/26 MCSO Blotter (montrosecountysheriffsoffice.com) — Montrose County residents can see exactly what deputies and Montrose police handled from May 1–4, including speeding stops, welfare checks, stray dog calls, DUI arrests, and several warrants served. The blotter lists locations by road or block, plus booking details and bond amounts for people arrested across the county.

2. Keeping Volunteers Connected in Rural Areas (redcross.org) — Red Cross leaders and longtime volunteers are rebuilding a strong, connected volunteer network in Montrose, even without a local chapter office. Through monthly coffee meetups, trainings, smoke-alarm installs, and a visible “Purple Team,” they’re recruiting neighbors, partnering with the city’s emergency manager, and coordinating with nearby counties to strengthen disaster response across rural Western Colorado.

3. Suspect damages buildings, steals tools in Cimarron (westernslopenow.com) — Law enforcement in Montrose County is asking for the public’s help identifying whoever burglarized and damaged several buildings and a camper at a Cimarron gas station complex along Highway 50. Investigators say tools and other equipment were stolen over several weeks, and anonymous tips through P3Tips could earn a cash reward if they lead to an arrest.

4. Heavy mountain snow disrupts travel toward the Front Range (kjct8.com) — Expect a cool, mostly rainy-to-dry day around Montrose today with highs near the mid-50s to upper-50s and lows in the upper-30s, plus a hard freeze possible Thursday morning. Heavy mountain snow and winter advisories will mainly affect travel over the passes toward Denver, with improving conditions along I-70 by late afternoon.
