East Hartford police ID man fatally shot in his home (ctpost.com) — East Hartford police have identified 24-year-old resident Monsi Jones Jr. as the man fatally shot in his Garden Street home Saturday night. Investigators say the shooting appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public, and they’re asking anyone with information to call the department’s tip line as the case remains under investigation.

Syracuse could utilize 2 QBs at UConn (statenews.net) — UConn will host Syracuse in East Hartford this Saturday, bringing a nonconference matchup and the possibility Syracuse will rotate two quarterbacks at Rentschler Field. The Huskies are looking to rebound from a close loss at Miami (Ohio), while Syracuse hopes a refreshed offense and a recovering freshman receiver can help snap its two-game skid.
   

3. CRDA Seeks to Double Annual State Bond Funding to 50 Million for Hartford Development (news-usa.today) — A regional development agency that serves East Hartford is asking the state to double its annual bond funding to $50 million to support more housing and redevelopment projects. Leaders say rising construction costs and strong demand in Hartford are straining current resources, and expanded “gap financing” could help keep new apartment construction moving across the capital region.
