Center for Arts & History opens new student space, The Gallery Nook (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — Lewis-Clark State College is opening The Gallery Nook, a new student-focused lounge inside the Center for Arts & History on Main Street in downtown Lewiston. Locals and LC State families are invited to the Aug. 22 grand opening, featuring a scavenger hunt, prizes, and a chance to explore how the space supports creativity and community. 
2. Three Hospitalized After Crash Involving Log Truck Near Arrow (dailyfly.com) — Three people were hospitalized after a loaded log truck overturned near Arrow at the U.S. 12 and State Highway 3 junction east of Lewiston, blocking traffic in both directions for about two and a half hours. Idaho State Police say a Ford Focus made an illegal U-turn, triggering the collision and overturn, and the Ford’s driver was cited for reckless driving.
3. Sales and sociability (lmtribune.com) — Neighbors in Lewiston’s Elks Addition kept a 38-year tradition alive this weekend with the annual Shiloh Yard Sale, drawing bargain hunters and old friends back to the streets around Shiloh Drive. Longtime residents shared memories of when the subdivision was smaller, the sale felt like a festival, and fields still stretched toward Lewiston’s country club.
4. Mitch Watkins Takes Reins as New Idaho Transportation Board Chairman (koze.com) — Idaho’s new Transportation Board chairman, Mitch Watkins, runs a beverage distribution company with a facility in Lewiston, tying local jobs to statewide transportation decisions. As he takes over the board this month, he’s emphasizing strategic upgrades to Idaho’s road and bridge network to keep up with rapid growth and relieve pressure on key corridors.
