Nampa Planning and Zoning Commission approves drone deliveries in (idahonews.com) — Amazon has cleared its first big local hurdle to launch drone deliveries in Nampa, with the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission approving a conditional use permit for operations from Franklin Road. Residents raised concerns about noise, wildlife, and impacts across the Treasure Valley, but commissioners still voted 6–1 in favor. Drone flights can’t start until the FAA signs off on the airspace.

Growing school inches closer to athletics launch (idahostatesman.com) — A big change is coming for students at Nampa-based College of Western Idaho, which just hired its first athletic director to launch intercollegiate sports and intramurals for the growing school. With CWI now owning the Ford Idaho Center from the city of Nampa, local residents could soon see the venue used for college basketball, volleyball and other Otters-branded events.
