Antioch Man Threw Mom's Dog In Trash Compactor: Police

A 27-year-old is charged with putting his mother's shih tzu in a trash compactor, leading to its death.

ANTIOCH, TN — An Antioch man accused of putting his mother's shih tzu in an apartment complex trash compactor is charged with aggravated animal cruelty.

Metro Police say February 21 surveillance footage from Antioch's Arbor Hill Apartments shows Terrence Clark, 27, pull up next to the compactor, take the dog from the back seat, put it in a trash bag which he then throws into the compactor before activating the machine at least four times.

A resident heard the dog whimpering and called 911. The fire department was able to get the dog from inside the compactor and rush it to a veterinarian, but the dog died four days later.
