Drunken Cat Owner Threatens Dog Owners With Screwdriver: Police

A screwdriver-swinging man threatened to kill three people if they "messed with" his cat, according to an arrest warrant.

NASHVILLE, TN — Three people out for a Sunday afternoon with their dog were threatened by an angry, drunken cat owner, according to police.

Metro Police say Jimmy Sneed, 35, approached the trio, who were with their pooch in the dog park behind Eleven North Apartments in The Gulch. Sneed then began "aggressively pulling on" the gate and yelling "if you mess with my cat, I will f------ kill you," according to an affidavit.

Police said when they arrived Sneed had "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person, his speech was slurred he [had] blood shot eyes and he was [unsteady] on his feet," though Sneed said "all he did was drink a couple of beers." Officers say they also discovered a set of brass knuckles in his possession.

Sneed was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, vandalism and public intoxication. He is being held on a $43,500 bond.
