Man Threatens to Kill Everyone at a Nashville Steak 'n' Shake After Being Told He Couldn't Drink Inside: Police

A 29-year-old man faces a laundry list of charges after becoming angry that he couldn't booze it up at Steak 'n' Shake.

NASHVILLE, TN — A Nashville man, angered that he was not being allowed to drink inside Steak 'n' Shake, allegedly went to his car, retrieved a machete and threatened to kill everyone inside.

When police arrived at the Steak 'n' Shake, they spotted Shane Spurgeon, 29, walking out of the restaurant with the machete. Witnesses told the responding officers that after he was told he couldn't drink at the restaurant, he became very angry and began to curse before leaving and coming back with the blade and threatening everyone's lives.

Once in handcuffs, Spurgeon alleged kicked an officer putting him into a patrol car. Police believe he was drunk and possibly under the influence of another intoxicant.

He is charged with aggravated assault, assault on an officer, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.

His bond is set at $35,000.
