Arrest Made In Connection With University Of Texas Frat House Party Shooting [UPDATED]
Daniel Hamilton Magee, 18, was reportedly interested in joining the frat but was asked to leave and returned later, armed, police said.

AUSTIN, TX — A suspect is in custody Monday morning after a fraternity house shooting just off the University of Texas campus the previous day that left a security guard injured.
Daniel Hamilton Magee, 18, was booked into the Travis County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said in a statement released Monday afternoon. His arrest stems from an early morning shooting on Sunday at the Sigma Chi house at Nueces and 28th streets.
Austin police previously said the shooting incident occurred after an individual in attendance was asked to leave the party, only to return later with two other men. In the latest police statement, it's detailed that three other men were detained for questioning, but no formal charges have been filed against them.

The incident happened at around 3 a.m. on Sunday at a frat party that followed a University of Texas football game that Magee was attending. According to police, Magee had inquired about joining the fraternity and left his contact information behind.
But, according to police, Magee became disruptive and was asked to leave the premises. He was physically removed by the security guard, Edward Earls, the affidavit noted. Some 45 minutes later, Magee returned with two others, police said. One round from a weapon was fired at Earls, striking him in the foot, police said.

The security guard was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge for treatment of injuries that were not deemed to be life-threatening.
Police used the information the suspect left behind to track him down and place him under arrest after he fled the scene of the shooting. There was no word on whether additional charges would be filed, or if the two other men with Magee would also be charged.
Police scheduled a 1:30 p.m. press conference on Monday to provide further details related to the incident.
Police noted the probe into the shooting is an active investigation.
