Police ID Elderly Couple Found Dead Inside Wrecked Car Outside Leander [UPDATED]

LEANDER, TX -- Texas Department of Public Safety officials on Monday identified a couple found dead Saturday inside a car at a wooded area just outside Leander.

The bodies were found inside a wrecked vehicle, and officials speculated they had been there for weeks. The driver was identified as Warren Thomson, 76, of Georgetown and Johanna Sturm, 73, of Corpus Christi.

Investigators don't suspect foul play, but an investigation in the time and manner of death continues. The bodies were found in a heavily wooded area off RM 2243, just three miles northeast of Leander, according to the officials.

LEANDER, TX -- Texas Department of Public Safety officials on Sunday said the bodies of a man and woman found outside Leander had been there for several weeks.

The bodies were found inside a vehicle northeast of Leander on Saturday, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Police found the bodies in a heavily wooded area off RM 2243, just three miles northeast of Leander, according to the report.

Police have not yet identified the bodies, and an investigation related to their deaths continues.
