Body Found At Lady Bird Lake: Austin Fire Department
Fire officials alerted to the discovery just before 9 a.m. on Sunday, but referred further questions to the Austin Police Department.
AUSTIN, TX — A body was found at Lady Bird Lake, Austin fire officials said Sunday.
In a tweet posted just before 9 a.m., Austin Fire Department officials said the body was found at 517 Cesar Chavez St. in what they termed as a water rescue. The body was found in an area of the lake near the Seaholm Power Plant, officials added.
In their tweet, Austin police placed the find at 800 W. Cesar Chavez St., not the 400 block as fire officials indicated. Police said the death was not deemed to be suspicious, suggesting it was a case of accidental drowning.

Fire officials provided no further information, referring further questions to the Austin Police Department. As a result, the gender and estimated age of the victim are unknown. Patch will update when more details are known.
APD is currently investigating a deceased person located near 800 W Cesar Chavez in Lady Bird Lake. This is not being investigated as a suspicious death and PIO is not responding. PIO6
