Man And Dog On Boat Rescued After Fire Breaks Out

AUSTIN, TX -- A man, his dog, a boat, an impending storm, wind gusts and a fire made for some tense moments on Lady Bird Lake Monday evening.

Firefighters reported to the lake after receiving a call for a boater in need of assistance, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Somehow, a small fire had broken out in the boat as it floated near Austin High School.

The call came in prior to a line of thunderstorms that was preceded with increasingly strong wind gusts.

In the end, the blaze was quickly extinguished and both man and dog were uninjured.
