Texas 130 Stretch Closed After 18-Wheeler Catches Fire
Stretch of highway between Bluff Road and U.S. 290 expected to be closed for several hours after big rig blaze; drivers asked to avoid area.
EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police closed northbound Texas 130 between Bluff Road and U.S. 290 after an 18-wheeler crashed and caught fire on Friday morning.
The Austin Police Department first tweeted about the incident at 6 a.m., saying the rig that caught fire was carrying liquor.
No injuries were reported, but police advised motorists to avoid the area to accommodate their investigation and road cleanup. The road closure is expected to be in effect for several hours, police noted.
