Ellis Harold Henderson is likely to be charged with assault by contact, aggravated robbery and resisting arrest, a spokeswoman told the Austin American-Statesman. Identified as Ellis Harold Henderson, the man s accused not only of assault but allegedly trying to steal a university staff member's vehicle and attempting to escape custody from the Travis County Jail once he was apprehended, the Statesman reported.
The alleged assault occurred Thursday night at Robert Dedman Drive. It's believed the man may have tried to assault another student before being stopped when a staff member intervened. Henderson is said to have then assaulted the staff member as a result and trying to steal his car.

AUSTIN, TX -- University of Texas at Austin police have disclosed reports of separate physical assaults of two female students on campus this past Monday.
The attacks are said to have occurred in broad daylight between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Robert Dedman Drive, according to a report by Fox 7. Coming just months since the death of freshman Haruka Weiser -- killed by a homeless teenager on campus grounds this past April -- the recent attacks yield anxiety on students still reeling from the death of the dance major.
“The subject came up to them," University of Texas Police Department Assistant Chief Peter Scheets told Fox 7. "In once instance, grabbed a student by the elbow and article of clothing. The other one did the same thing made contact and I believe put his hand behind the student's neck."
