Sheriff’s Deputy Fires Weapon at Suspect Inside Hospital
Details are still emerging on officer-involved shooting, initial reports indicate man shot was jail inmate who had a sharp object

HOUSTON, TX -- A Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy reportedly fired his weapon at a suspect inside Ben Taub Hospital in Downtown Houston.
Eyewitnesses said the shooting happened on the fifth floor of the hospital and that the suspect was wounded and taken to the emergency room inside Ben Taub Hospital.
Details are still emerging on what led to the shooting, and the condition of the wounded suspect.

Officers on the scene said the suspect is a prisoner from the Harris County Jail, and was receiving medical treatment and reportedly threatened someone with a sharp object.
The suspect who was wounded by the deputy is in surgery, according to HCSO.
