Houston Area Weather: Forecasters Warn Of Storms For President’s Day.
Storms expected to roll in Sunday Night, and remain through much of Monday for last leg of President's Day weekend.

HOUSTON, TX -- Houstonians are used to a little rain, but they can expect a bit more than a little as a round of thunderstorms rolls in for President’s Day.
According to the National Weather Service, rain and thunderstorms are expected to begin moving in from the west on Sunday evening, and move slowly through the Houston area over a span of several hours through Monday.
The regional forecast calls for a high of 71 on Monday with a 100 percent chance of rain.

It was less than a week ago that the Houston area was hammered with severe thunderstorms, flash flooding that spawned six tornadoes that caused damage in Fort Bend, Wharton and Matagorda Counties.

Officials said they are not expecting a repeat of Mother Nature’s onslaught from last week, but weather can change quickly and without warning.
Officials advise that residents think ahead and prepare for the possibility of severe weather by having plenty of supplies on-hand before the storms hit, staying indoors and off the streets when the rain starts, and staying tuned to the local forecasts.
