Dallas Police Department Announces Funeral Details For Fallen Officers
Five funerals are scheduled in a city that saw its greatest loss of life among officers since 9-11.

Dallas, TX — The Dallas Police Department has revealed funeral details for officers killed in the line of duty in Dallas last week.
Five policemen in Dallas were killed on July 7 as they guarded a crowd of peaceful protests calling attention to excessive police force.
Funeral services for Dallas Area Rapid Transit officer Brent Thompson are scheduled for this Wednesday (July 13) at The Potter's House, 6777 W. Kiest Blvd., at 10 a.m. Ahead of the funeral, visitation will take place on Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, 1530 N. 45th St. in Corsicana, the Texas city of Thompson's formative years, where he graduated high school.

Funeral services for Michael J. Smith are scheduled for Thursday, July 14. The services are scheduled at noon in the Watermark Church at 7450 LBJ Freeway in Dallas. Preceding that, visitation is scheduled on Tuesday, July 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church at 2800 Valwood Parkway in Farmers Branch.
Burial will be at Restland Public Safety Memorial Gardens at 13005 Greenville Ave. in Dallas.

The funeral service for Lorne B. Ahrens is scheduled to take place this Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd. in Plano. Visitation is scheduled the day before from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Prestonwood Baptist followed by burial on Wednesday at Restland Public Safety Memorial Gardens, 13005 Greenville Ave.
Arrangements for two other officers killed last week, Michael Krol and Patricio Zamarripa, are pending.
In response to overwhelming offers of support from members of the public, the Dallas Police Department previously released three links of charities to which people can donate to benefit the officers' families. Money raised go directly to the families of the officers killed, much of it to be used to defray funeral costs.
