Fire in NW Portland Caused by Tractor/Train Crash, One Dead
Smoke from the fire was seen moving across the Willamette River.

The driver of a tractor-trailer was killed after a crash with a train along Highway 30 and St. Helen’s Road in Northwest Portland that caused a massive fire, police said.
Portland police responded to assist Portland Fire and Rescue around 8:48 a.m. Sunday for the report of a crash and fire but were unable to access the crash scene due to the fire.
Firefighters battled the fire and found that the driver of the tractor-trailer was deceased.

According to Portland Fire and Rescue, the fire was caused due to the crash and the only material that burned was the fuel from the truck. U.S. 30 will remain closed for several hours while authorities investigate.
