The following items came from recent police updates through Aug. 22 from the West Springfield, Franconia and Mason District stations of the Fairfax County Police Department.
Drunk in Public, 4200 block of Annandale Road, Aug. 23, 2 a.m. A security guard was escorting out a patron who refused to pay. The suspect then reportedly struck the security guard. Officers arrested Richard Cardona for being drunk in public. The security guard, who was not injured, did not wish to prosecute reference the assault.
Assault by Mob, 4200 block of Annandale Road, Aug. 25, 1:30 a.m. The 27-year-old victim was approached by an unknown group of five to six men who engaged him in conversation. They beat him and fled. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Robbery, 7800 block of Heritage Drive, Aug. 27, 10:20 p.m. The victim reported he was sitting on the curb when two men approached. One suspect hit the victim and demanded money. The other took the cash that was presented by the victim. The suspect fled and the victim was not seriously injured.
Larceny, 7000 block of Little River Turnpike, Aug. 20. An unknown subject asked to use the victim’s cell phone. When the victim handed him the phone, the suspect fled on foot.
Destruction of Property, 7200 block of Sipes Lane, Aug. 22. Vehicle window shot out by BB.

Larceny, 7000 block of Little River Turnpike, Aug. 22. The window of a vehicle was shattered and cash left in a wallet on the seat was stolen.
