Arlington Road Re-Opens After School Bus Snags Utility Pole

The incident took place Tuesday morning.

Arlington Road Re-Opens After School Bus Snags Utility Pole
An Arlington Public Schools school bus was apparently in the wrong place at the wrong time Tuesday morning. The bus driver pulled over Tuesday morning to take a break and while the bus was pulled over, the driver heard some sounds coming from the roof of the bus.

Lines from a nearby utility poll had snagged on the roof; the utility pole broke, shutting down a road Tuesday morning, according to Arlington County Police.

As of lunchtime, Williamsburg Boulevard in Arlington County had reopened, according to a spokesman for the Arlington County Police.

The bus driver had likely dropped students off before taking a break, according to a spokesman for Arlington Public Schools.

As of 1 p.m., it didn't appear that were were any unusual power outages in the county, according to the Dominion Power outage map.
