Police: Garbage Truck Hits Garage and Sedan Crashes Into Store Window
Drivers crashed their vehicles into two structures Monday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

At 10:44 a.m., deputies responded to the 22000 block of Hyde Park Drive in Ashburn.

A 2000 Mack garbage truck was stopped in a cul-de-sac when the driver got out, but didn't apply the parking brake and failed to put the truck in park.

The truck rolled forward, striking the garage of a home. No one was inside the home at the time of the crash and no one was injured.

The driver was charged with reckless driving, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

At 12:30 p.m., deputies were in Sterling, responding to Dulles Crossing Plaza. A Leesburg man had pulled his 2005 Chrysler 300 into a parking space, but deputies say he inadvertently hit the gas pedal and drove into the glass window of a store.

There were people inside the store at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported and there was no structural damage to the store.

The driver also was charged with reckless driving, according to the Sheriff's Office.
