Tart Lumber Company Inc. has planned the Grand Opening of the Tart Design Showroom to display its new millwork design center. The 9,000-square-foot showroom displays kitchen and bath cabinets, doors, windows, moulding, millwork, closet systems, architectural hardware and a paint gallery.

The log sawing — typically referred to as a ribbon cutting — is set for noon Saturday, Sept. 29, and Loudoun Chairman Scott K. York (R-At Large), Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce President Tony Howard, Loo Katz from WASH FM 97.1 and the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders all plan to attend the celebration. Entertainment, raffles and food are all planned throughout the weekend, Sept. 28-29.

The event features Tart’s partner vendors, including Marvin Window and Doors, Crystal Cabinets, Windsor Millwork, Luxor Cabinets, Kraftmaid Cabinets, Therma-tru Doors, Clark Hall Doors, Upstate Doors, Baldwin Hardware, California Paints, Freedom Rail Closet Systems, Dominion Granit, Appliance Connection and other.

“You can see items online, but when it comes to installed millwork and cabinetry you need to have a hands-on experience,” said Craig Fritsche, president of Tart. “That is what we are making possible for all of our customers with our new Tart Design Showroom access system.”

Tart Lumber has served Northern Virginia and Metropolitan Washington for more than 60 years. Founder Lynwood Tart arrived in Arlington with a truckload of lumber in 1951 and started Tart Lumber Company. In 1973, he opened the Sterling location, where the new Tart Design Showroom, the lumber and hardware store, and the custom millwork shop have been consolidated.
