Fire Extinguished Outside Building In Kings Park
Firefighters put out a fire outside a private school at the Kings Park Shopping Center.
WEST SPRINGFIELD, VA—An electrical transformer caught fire outside of a school building at the Kings Park Shopping Center Wednesday afternoon.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to 9001 Braddock Road. Video from the scene shows the building houses Best Academy, a private school. The power had to be cut off to the transformer before firefighters could extinguish the blaze.
As of 1:32 p.m., the power was off and crews were putting out the fire. The building was evacuated, but there was no smoke extension of the fire into the building.
