Barnes & Noble to Close More Stores

The status of the Centreville area stores is not clear.

Barnes & Noble to Close More Stores

Barnes & Noble is considering closing up to one-third of its storefronts in the next 10 years, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal on Monday.

Centreville book enthusiasts have had two regional Barnes & Noble locations to choose from: the Manassas B&N on Sudley Road and the Fair Lakes Barnes and Noble. The fate of the local sites isn't known. B&N has not released a list of the locations that will close in the coming decade.

Barnes & Noble is closing its Reston location at The Spectrum, Reston Patch has reported. That closure was announced in late 2012 and it is not related to the upcoming round of retail location closures. A Container Store will be moving into the space being vacated by the bookstore.

Would you be sad if the the local Barnes & Noble sites closed? Have you moved most of your book purchases to online, your e-reader or iPad? Tell us in the comments!
