New Del Ray Dog Fest Announced For Spring 2023
Del Ray will go to the dogs as a new spring festival features dog activities, a Yappy Hour at participating restaurants and more.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Dogs and their humans are invited to a new spring festival celebrating all things canine in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood.
The first Del Ray Dog Fest will be held Sunday, April 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the George Washington Middle School parking lot, 1005 Mount Vernon Avenue Alexandria, VA. The event will be hosted by the Del Ray Business Association.
This outdoor event will include dog activities, dog menu items, live music, vendors and food. Dogs are welcome to attend, but owners must keep them on standard 6-foot leashes, not retractable or extendible leashes.

Following the event, participating restaurants will offer Yappy Hours from 3 p.m. to 6pm with a featured drink and food specials.
The festival will benefit Project Second Chance, an Alexandria nonprofit that helps and finds homes for rescue dogs. It is also working to address Puerto Rico's animal welfare crisis with spay and neuter initiatives and feeding routes to support homeless or abandoned animals.

Tickets are $17.85 including fees. Each ticket is good for one adult and up to two dogs. Attendees should have dogs up to date on their rabies vaccination and maintain control of their dog at all times at the event.
The event is outdoors, rain or shine. The festival's sponsor is The Peele Group.
