Spring2Action Returns In 2023 With 185 Participating Nonprofits
Spring2Action early giving is already happening ahead of Wednesday's 24-hour main event to support local causes in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandrians are encouraged to use their generosity to support local causes during the annual Spring2Action on Wednesday.
Spring2ACTion, Alexandria's annual day of giving spearheaded by ACT for Alexandria, will be held on Wednesday, April 26, but early giving is already underway. This is the 13th year of Spring2Action, which provided $2.65 million to 172 nonprofits last year through 7,700 donors.
During the 24-hour giving day, donors can visit www.spring2action.org to choose a nonprofit to receive a donation. Residents may also check out business fundraisers or other individual or organization fundraisers to support specific nonprofits.

Spring2Action is drawing participations from 185 nonprofits this year. There are various kinds of causes to support, from animal services and homelessness services to youth organizations and education.
Nonprofits that rank highest in a number of categories will be awarded prizes with grant funding. Categories include most donors, most dollars, most early giving donors, most early giving dollars, and most power hour donors. A few other prizes will be awarded to randomly-selected nonprofits.

Here are some of the top prizes:
- Early Giving Donor Prizes: $500 will be awarded to the organization with the most donors during the Early Giving Period (April 12-25). Another $500 will be awarded to the organization with the most donors between midnight and 8 a.m. on April 26.
- Early Giving Dollar Prizes: $500 will be awarded to the organization with the most dollars during the Early Giving Period (April 12-25. Another $500 will be awarded to the organization with the most dollars between midnight and 8 a.m. on April 26.
- Most Donors Prizes: Leaderboards will be based on each nonprofit's operating budget: Small ($0-$100K), Medium ($100K-$500K), and Large ($500K+). First place wins a $1,500 grant, second place wins a $750 grant, third place wins a $500 grant, fourth place wins a $250 grant and fifth place wins a $100 grant. Only contributions made online are counted.
- Most Donors - Free Agent Fundraisers Prizes: Prizes will be awarded based on the most number of donors. First place wins a $1,500 grant, second place wins a $750 grant, third place wins a $500 grant, fourth place wins a $250 grant and fifth place wins a $100 grant. Only contributions made online are counted.
- Power Hour Prizes - Donors: The organization with the most donors between 11 a.m. and noon, 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., and 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. on April 26 will win $500.
