Paul VI named among Top 50 Catholic High Schools in U.S.

Fairfax, Va. - Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax was recently named a winner in the 2012-2013 Catholic High School Honor Roll competition by The Cardinal Newman Society.

Paul VI was recognized as one of the Top 50 Catholic High Schools in the nation for overall excellence in all three Honor Roll categories: Catholic identity, academics and civic education.

"This is a great honor that validates what we do at Paul VI Catholic High School," shares Principal Virginia Colwell.  "Catholic identity, academic excellence and civic education present a tremendous opportunity and responsibility for our faculty and staff. The faculty and staff at PVI truly take to heart Jesus Christ's words to 'Make disciples of all nations - Teaching them to carry out everything I have commanded you,'" shares Colwell.

"Since competition began in 2004, the Honor Roll has been a helpful tool for administrators, families, and benefactors in recognizing the quality of a Catholic high school," said Patrick J. Reilly, President of The Cardinal Newman Society. "The Honor Roll schools are a reminder that Catholic education is getting better every day-not only academically, but in the renewal of Catholic identity-and we are delighted to see the increased level of competition among the schools that participated in the program this year."
