Body Found Off Walking Path Behind Main Street Marketplace: Police
City of Fairfax Police are investigating the discovery of a body found Friday morning off of a walking path behind Main Street Marketplace.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police are investigating the discovery of the body of a deceased man just off the walking path behind Main Street Marketplace on Friday morning.
"We are currently investigating; however, no foul play is suspected at this time. No threat to the community," Sgt. Lisa Gardner, a public information officer with the department's Administrative Services Division, told Patch in an email.
Police warned residents to avoid the area around the path, which is located in the 10300 block of Main Street, according to a 10:17 a.m. post on the department's official Twitter account.

At 2:07 p.m., police said that they had finished their work at the scene, which was once again open to the public.
No information was available about the cause of death or identity of the victim. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
