Motorcyclist Dead After Speeding Into Back of Car on Lee Hwy

Fairfax County Police are trying to determine what caused a man to drive his motorcycle into the back of a car early Sunday on Lee Highway. The motorcyclist was determined dead at the scene.

Police say Fred Timothy Hall, 53, of Fairfax was speeding westbound down Lee Highway by the Fairfax County Parkway on a 1981 Harley Davidson motorcycle at around 1 a.m. A 17-year-old girl driving a 2008 Toyota Camry made a right hand turn out of Buckley's Gate Drive and onto Lee Highway. The motorcycle drove into the back of the Camry, catapulting the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The girl was taken to Inova Fair Oaks Hospital with minor injuries.

Though the investigation is ongoing, police think the motorcycle's speed was a factor in the crash.
